Humans can drink milk, and cats seem to love milk… but what about dogs? It really comes down to your dog, as some will like milk and others won’t.
There is actually no need for milk in a dog’s diet, once they pass the puppy stage and stop feeding from their mother. In some dogs, milk will cause diarrhea, because as puppies grow into more adult dogs, then tend to lose the ability to digest lactose products. Each dog’s stomach will react different, while some might not have any problems with milk at all.
If you are going to give your dog some milk, make sure to first give it to them in small quantities, so you can see if they have any reactions from the milk. If your dog seems to be alright with the milk, you can substitute milk with a lactose free milk, which will be better for their digestive system.
