Eggs are one of the most used products when it comes to food for humans and pets, but what about hard boiled eggs? Humans are smart enough to know that they need to peel the hard shell off a hard boiled egg, but when it comes to dogs, they will just about eat anything!
If you find that your dog has jumped up onto the counter and eaten a few hard boiled eggs, or even if you have fed your dog hard boiled eggs, there is no need for concern. Fortunately, there is nothing in eggs that can be harmful for dogs, but they will also get the majority of their needed vitamins and nutrients from their dog food, so eggs should not be added to any diet without recommendation from a veterinarian.
It is important to be reminded that not all dogs are the same, nor are their stomachs. Larger dogs may be able to eat a whole egg without a problem, while smaller dogs may get an upset stomach from foods they are not used to. Possible side effects from scrap foods or other foods they are not used to are pancreatitis and gastrointestinal upset.
