Allergy is a body’s hypersensitivity disorder. This occurs when a animals’s immune system reacts to substances in the environment. Allergen is the name of the substance that causes such reaction and these reactions are acquired, rapid and predictable.
Allergic reaction in dog is not that bad at all. Why? Because it is the body’s first line of defense against unwanted organism or substances, that’s why immunologist consider that dogs with allergies are lucky since have a very active immune system. Histamine is very abundant that almost all of your dog’s body has it and they serve as the protector, alert mechanism or a security guard and they eliminate or quarantine any unwanted visitors such as foreign materials, foreign substances, bacteria, virus , fungus and even the body parts especially if that body part or organ has just been transplanted, allergic reaction is the basic response to it since that transplanted organ have a different DNA sequence and the immune system consider it as a threat.

Allergies sometimes do harm than good, especially if unnoticed and left untreated, because of the onset of some allergic reactions, they became fatal leaving your dog seriously ill and sometimes can cause death.
It is true that an allergic reaction is healthy, but we must be vigilant enough to see it as it happens and we must read the symptoms as soon as possible especially if our the breed of our dog belongs to those breeds who are very prone to allergies. Dogs with allergies are considered lucky but it is our vigilance that will make them healthy
