Here is my review of a few more specific cat toys that I have purchased for my kittens. I think that the success of a toy will always depend on the interests of your cat, but with so many toys to choose from, I hope it is helpful to have reviews of a few cat toys!
CatDancer®
The CatDancer is perhaps the simplest cat toy available. It is a piece of wire with durable paper rolls attached to the ends. You hold one end in your hand and the wire naturally “dances” around. My kittens have LOVED CatDancer from day 1. It is a great toy because it encourages your cat to run, practice “hunting”, and jump. The erratic movement of the CatDancer is fascinating to my kittens, and whether we’re holding it in the air or twitching it on the floor, they love it. This is a really simple toy that will provide hours of entertainment for both you and your cat! Adult cats love this toy too!
ToyShoppe® Motion Critter Cat Toy
We found this toy in a clearance bin and thought it would be fun since it’s interactive. You pull the tail of this snake toy and it wiggles back together again. It makes a noise and does a quick wiggle. Our kittens have never been particularly interested in this toy. I think it might be more effective if the sound and action lasted longer, but whatever the reason, this has not been a favorite.
Petstages Cat Dental Mint Stick Cat Toy
This is another toy that smelled absolutely wonderful when I took it out of the package. Fresh catnip smells so good! This toy is supposed to help remove plaque from your cat’s teeth and freshen their breath, which might occur if your cat chews on this toy. My cats mainly bat it around the floor and it hasn’t been a huge attraction. Our other Petstages toy, the Petstages Green Magic Boomerang Buddy, became popular as our kittens aged, so maybe that will be the case with the Petstages Cat Dental Mint Stick Cat Toy as well!
