The Scratch Rattle and Roll Mouse is a terrific cat scratcher and toy. It has an elastic band so that you can hang the mouse from a doorknob. Or you can stuff the elastic band into a little pouch beneath the mouse’s “mouth” and keep the toy on the floor, which is what I do.
The features include durable construction, with a tough material called sisal on the mouse’s back for scratching (similar to rope.) This material stands up to vigorous scratching and can help to keep your cat’s nails filed down. My cats love to dig furiously at the mouse’s back! Another plus about the sisal material is that it does not easily rip off. My cat is will eat anything so it’s really great that I don’t have to worry about them eating pieces of this toy.
The mouse contains catnip to attract cats. The material within the mouse ears crinkles, which my cat LOVES and the tail has a rattle in it. The only negative part of this toy is that if you step on the tail rattle it will crack – this has happened to my mouse and a family member’s mouse too.
My cats love to scratch this mouse and tumble around with it on the floor. It weighs quite a bit and is rather large, but the cats enjoy wrestling with this mouse. My cats and my family member’s cats also love to sit next to this mouse. The mouse will be in the center of the living room floor and the cat sits directly next to it.
My mouse is gray and white with pink ears, nose, and tail, but I’ve also seen this mouse in gray and black and brown tones. This mouse costs $13 – $20 depending on where you buy it (Walmart and Amazon.com among other online retailers) and is totally worth the money in my opinion. It’s a sturdy and versatile toy for cats – plus it’s too big to get shoved under the couch!
