Smarter Toys IQ Treat Ball Dog Toy Review

December 30, 2011 by PetFoodia

The smarter toys IQ treat ball comes in two sizes: 3 and 5 inches. Both are a great toy that can keep dogs entertained. It serves as a toy and a treat dispenser at the same time. It is certainly an effective tool for boosting your dog’s puzzle solving skills.

The smarter toys IQ treat ball is available in orange and blue. It is usually marketed and sold as large IQ treat ball but it is not actually. It is only 5 inches in diameter and weighs only about 5 ounces. Its size and weight are suitable for medium to large dogs. The smaller 3-inch diameter version should work for puppies and smaller breed of dogs. However, the size can give limitations on what treats you can put inside. It can contain half cup of some kibbles.

The ball can also stimulate the dogs mentally and physically. For mental stimulation, you can fill the pet ball with some dog treats. Choose the ones that your pet dog likes the most and hand the ball over to your pet. The dog will have to be creative and wise on how it can make the treats come out. It is a great way to keep them busy. The ball also has an adjustable opening so you can increase the difficulty level and give a higher level of challenges when your dog started to memorize how the thing works. Physically, they will need to move around and exercise their four legs to recover the treats. It is definitely a great alternative if you cannot walk your dog outside in some days. You will notice your dog getting tired after two sessions of running after a ball rolling just to get the treats inside.

The smarter toys IQ treat ball is also sturdy and highly durable. It is made from a hard plastic so you will not have any trouble with chewer-dogs but it is strong and can stand several drops without cracking. You can definitely use it for a long time.

The idea of working hard to get foods and treats also interests dogs. You can even try putting the same treats in this ball and in the food bowl. Most fun-loving and thrill-seeker dogs will choose to get the treats from the IQ ball.

The smarter toys IQ treat ball can cost $8 to $15. It is definitely a good buy and worth the price due to its functions as a toy and as a food or treat dispenser.
